Fiat 500 (08 - 15)
FIAT are using the widespread appeal of the new 500 to expand the number of derivatives. It is a great concept - get the basic car right and then make all sorts of variants. They have done a good job with the retro styling. It is chic and has tonnes of appeal for younger car buyers. The styling will also attract fans of the original classic Fiat 500. The design of the interior has been cleverly thought out and there’s plenty of scope for customisation so you can be guaranteed your car will stand out. You can even decide on the colour of the dashboard trim. For all its charm, it is a practical little car. There’s a usable boot, room for four and it is bright and nicely laid out. There’s room for two in the back of the cabin, although it will be a tight squeeze. This is a lot of fun to drive. The small proportions along with the tight steering and nippy engines make it great for whizzing around town.
Look out for
• With the sunroof open you will lose around 3 inches of head room
